When Jonah finally gets to Nineveh, they surprisingly repent –even wearing sackcloth and ashes. Advent is also a time of repentance for us, because otherwise we fail to experience the fullness of wonder at what God does at Christmas. You can have a nice Christmas without repentance, but God wants something for you that’s far more than just nice!
