Joseph’s brothers envied his clothes and what they communicated, and that was part of what led to the brokenness in their relationship. Joseph turns the tables in the end, but uses clothes to communicate his and God’s grace to his brothers. We can envy many people around us for what we see in their lives, but God has clothed us with his grace and given us that which is the best and most needed.
